Leave

A call, a poem, an untold letter.

The pain I feel, but apparently it is for the better.

I turn to leave after all I have ever shared.

It is now mine to lonely, solely, slowly bear.

I know I must go; I wish time would halt or slow.

Not too soon, I will have to row;

Away from you, from all I have known.

Hopefully you will remember as you have grown;

The times, rhymes, dimes together we have spent

And how my aching, breaking, shaking heart is bent.

Nothing I can do, yet all I want is you.

I hope that one day our dark skies will be blue.

My heart is beating at the thought,

At the torment I feel I surely brought.

On the anger towards the others, I have wrought.

At all the faces I have sought.

As fast as in a race, you want me to leave you no trace.

A new place, a new pace, my stony, brave face.
