Shattered

The tide rolled in and out without ever a care,

And not much did I ever want to share.

Idle chat and a lonely rant:

Talking friendless, mindless, endless about the one that I can’t.

Crashing waves of my never ending, consuming rage,

Receding words and rhymes of a hopeless sage.

Time has come for the old to depart, for them to pack, those together to part.

Leaving those at port; wanting, but never looking back into your cold, bold, sold heart.

Sliding, burning, churning tears of long swirling, hurling, twirling rain.

Cannot help, but feel scarred, barred, marred; you are who brought this searing pain.

What can one do so far from the rocky, shore?

For the one you wait, back turned, wants of you nothing any more.

So, the ship then sails, sails far to find another bay.

Oh, how I wish it went my way.

The sea is a storm, wretched hands elevateaccelerate, separate the keel.

shattered hull and broken steel.

The thoughts, the emotions that make me still reflexively reel.

Why is this restless sea, how I still feel?
